The ice in and ice out dates have fluctuated somewhat since I started recording the dates after we purchased our place on Chandos Lake in the spring of 2007.

At this point the ice is far from safe for travel. The forecast calls for well below zero Celsius temperatures right through the first week of 2013 with very little snow so the ice should build quickly.
Be extremely careful travelling the lake even after the ice has frozen sufficiently to permit travel across it.
